The Design:
The Breathy Collection by Brooknit Bonneterie is a game of eyelets that lets you knit both the Breathy Top and the Breathy Bandana in one box!
The textured eyelet design makes it very breathable and lightweight, perfect for mid-seasons like Spring and Fall or for the chillier summer nights.
This kit includes everything you need to knit both the Breathy Top and the Breathy Bandana for a perfect match of light layers.
The softness of Merino wool makes it ideal for direct contact with your skin. Merino wool's natural thermoregulating and moisture-wicking properties make it soft and comfortable, even on warm days!
Why “Breathy”?
The eyelets create an airy yet perfect texture for handling breezy air.
Pick your favorite color, the one that goes with everything, or a special one that will stand out.
The Process:
Each item is knitted flat, in a single piece.
For the Top, start at the bottom, work up to the shoulders, create the neck opening, and knit the back from the shoulders to the bottom, with increases on the front and decreases on the back to add volume at chest level and shoulder coverage.
The front and back are identical, and you will follow the same directions in reverse (increases/decreases) throughout.
You will only need to seam the sides to close it and define the armpit opening to your liking.
The bandana is knitted in a very simple sequence of eyelets, with regular increases in the first section, straight in the middle, and decreases in the last section on both sides. It is a triangle shape, exactly like we fold and shape a bandana. The edges are designed as an I-cord on 3 stitches.
They will both require enough attention and focus to keep track of your progress and make it entertaining.

- 3 cakes of yarn (12 oz) to choose from our selection of 100% Merino wool - Superwash - worsted weight.
- Explanations and pattern documents: all the instructions to follow step by step, and QR codes to access video tutorials for specific moves.
- 1 tapestry needle. The small essential for the final step: weaving the ends.
- 5 stitch markers
- 1 marker row counter. So helpful to track your progress.
- 2 Brooknit Bonneterie labels to be sewn.
- 2 no-iron fabric labels to add the name (ideal to put on the back of the cloth label)
- 2 keepsake cards if you gift, or to cherish!
Knitting needles are optional. We have circular needles in aluminum and bamboo, as you prefer.
